An Italian delicacy that has something to surprise: the Chocolate sausage ! It looks like the real thing, but inside, you'll find melted chocolate, crushed biscuits and marshmallow pieces. You can personalize it as you wish, to treat yourself or to offer it as a gourmet gift...
What you'll love about this chocolate sausage
- flavors : the pleasure of dark chocolate garnished with shortbread and marshmallows for a fun touch!
- texture : melting thanks to the chocolate, slightly crunchy thanks to the biscuit pieces and soft thanks to the marshmallow pieces.
- difficulty level : it's a real child's play, moreover it's a fun recipe to make with the family, or for the end of year celebrations. There is no need for a particular mold, just a cling film to form your chocolate sausage.

Details on choosing your ingredients
- chocolate : I take baking chocolate with 52% cocoa.
- oeuf : its role here is to give the chocolate sausage a soft texture.
- biscuits : I use classic shortbread biscuits, but you can use any biscuits you like as long as they are not too sweet.
- mini marshmallows: I find them in mini format, in a bag, in the candy section. It's easier than having to cut big marshmallows with scissors, but if that's all you have, you can do it too.

My tips for making this chocolate sausage recipe a success
- To tighten the cling film around your chocolate sausage: roll it several times on your work surface, holding the ends firmly.
- for a sausage effect that is more real than nature: sprinkle with icing sugar and then spread it with your hand. It will take on the typical reliefs of the real sausage that we all know!
- To be able to easily cut nice slices, the sausage must be very cold (after a night in the refrigerator is ideal).
Possible variations to garnish your chocolate sausage
Instead of mini marshmallows, you can choose a healthier option by incorporating pistachios, Hazelnut to Almonds crushed.

How to store chocolate sausage?
As it contains raw egg, chocolate sausage should be kept in the fridge and consumed in the 2 days. It’s better eaten fresh too, so that’s great!
It is entirely possible to freeze it right after making it. Once defrosted, it is the same principle, it keeps for 2 days.
