Ingredient details
- milk : I use whole milk because it is creamier for this chai latte. If you want, you can choose vegetable milk. Oat milk is very good for this recipe because it is creamy, otherwise cashew milk can be suitable.
- tea : I use black tea in bags (Darjeeling). If you use loose tea, you should use small, well-crushed leaves.
- spices : inside this chai latte, we find cinnamon, ginger, cardamom.
- Maple syrup : this is the natural sweetener in this recipe. The quantity can be adjusted to your taste.
- vanilla : I add a little for the gourmet side.
How to make a homemade chai latte?

NB: I give you the detailed recipe for this express chai latte at the bottom of the page

My tips for a successful chai latte
- let the black tea steep for at least 5 minutes so that it can develop its aromas in the hot milk.
- once the spices have been added, heat until boiling to properly diffuse their flavor.
- to froth milk easily for decoration, warm it up slightly before using a small milk frother.
Possible variations for this recipe
When adding the spices to the milk, if you don't have cardamom, you can use it instead 4 spice mix.
If you want reduce oiliness of the drink, you can choose semi-skimmed milk (instead of whole milk) or replace half of the milk in the drink with water.

Hello, the recipe looks delicious. I would like to prepare a chai base, which I can store for a few days or weeks and use it to make a quick chai latte. Can this recipe be stored (with plant milk)? Or is it better to make a concentrate without milk that I can then keep in the fridge? Thank you very much
Clement
Hello, it keeps longer without the plant-based milk. See you soon :)
