Chocolate Mug Cake & Peanut Chantilly

If I had followed the calendar to the letter, today I would have made pancakes...

But not want!

Instead, I decided to make THE recipe of the moment, Mug Cake.

Another funny thing from the USA (!), Which consists in making in 5 minutes flat a delicious cake contained in a coffee cup and cooked in the microwave.

Enough to satisfy an urgent desire... for chocolate!!!

For fun, I made a peanut-flavored whipped cream, which I placed on top of each mug cake. It's a flavor duo that I really like, but you already know that...

Recipe for 2 Mug-Cakes:

{no need for a measuring cup, here the proportions are made with a teaspoon (cc) or tablespoon (cs), to go faster!}

- Melt 4 tbsp of unsalted butter in the microwave, set aside for later.

- In a container, mix 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla, 2 eggs and 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar.

- Separately, mix the dry ingredients: 4 tbsp flour, 6 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/4 tsp baking powder and a pinch of salt. Then add this mixture to the previous mixture.

- Pour in the melted butter, mix one last time, and fill 2 mugs with this mixture.

- Cook in the microwave for 1 or 2 minutes (1 minute = soft, 2 minutes = well done). The duration should be adapted to your own oven of course.

- Then make the peanut whipped cream: whip 20cl of whole liquid cream (30% fat) into a firm whipped cream with 2 tbsp of caster sugar. Once the whipped cream has set, add 2 tbsp of peanut butter, previously softened with a fork. Whisk again and place on each mug cake.

Enjoy without waiting!

This recipe looks funny to me, even if I admit that it looks less "sexy" than other preparations ;)

  11. Great idea!!! For those little evenings when we crave chocolate and are too lazy to go out all the stuff, like Sunday night lol.
I absolutely have to think about buying 30% cream, I usually use light liquid cream and so I'm stuck every time I have a little craving and the desire to make one of your recipes!

  12. I tried and I failed again lol (don't hit me please). It was overcooked, I'll try again by lowering the oven power, I think mine is at 900w, that must be a lot. It was still good, not too sweet, that's what I like in your recipes!

  13. Mamzeldree

    Mmm that looks delicious!!! :)

  16. Hello,
I tested it yesterday. He is very good. For me 1mn to MO was sufficient the first cup I cooked it 1m30s c was overcooked.
I had a question: if I want to bake it I should put how much time / power in your opinion?

  17. It looked tempting, but after making it it was a failure, very pasty, not soft and even less melting. I am very disappointed! I must have missed something... I think the quantities indicated in tbsp and tsp have something to do with it: a rounded tbsp has nothing to do with a level tbsp in terms of quantity. Maybe more precise instructions should be given? In any case, it has not diminished my desire to try other recipes from this blog, which is a real call to gluttony!
