A creamy frozen treat with crunchy Oreo cookies ...
Oreo ice cream recipe - Lilie Bakery

A very easy ice cream recipe: the Oreo vanilla ice cream ! A very creamy homemade ice cream with crunchy Oreo pieces, which can be enjoyed all year round...

Oreo cookies you probably know them, they are these small black cocoa circles. It is a biscuit that I like to use in baking, for its taste and for its very distinct color: as a cheesecake base, layer cake filling, etc. In this ice cream, it brings a delicious crunchy, and goes well with the melting of the ice cream...

The result is as I wanted: not too sweet and refreshing. And besides, I am delighted to have mixed crème fraîche and brown sugar in the preparation: it brings a tangy touch - difficult to describe - but it is this difference that I like!

What ingredients to use to make this Oreo ice cream?

  • Milk : it must be very cold to succeed in this recipe. I used semi-skimmed cow's milk. For even more creaminess, you can use whole milk.
  • Light brown sugar : it brings an even more delicious touch than white powdered sugar.
  • Whole fresh cream : useful here for a very smooth and creamy texture.
  • Vanilla pod : it gives all its flavor to ice cream. It is left to macerate overnight with the other ingredients.
  • Oreo cookies : the stars of the recipe! They are incorporated in large pieces in the recipe.

How to make this Oreo ice cream?

It's really very simple! the day before, mix all the ingredients (except the cookies) in a container. This allows the aromas to develop well (especially vanilla).

Le D-Day we take his ice cream maker or ice cream maker. For my part, I prepared this recipe for Oreo vanilla ice cream using my ice cream maker. If you want to equip yourself, I give you a selection of equipment at the bottom of the recipe.

Why not make it without an ice cream maker or turbine? Well, the difference will be seen in the texture obtained: the ice cream will be more compact and less creamy, perhaps even with small ice crystals. Personally, on this recipe, I like the foaming, the frothy effect created by the ice cream machine.

Once the ice cream maker or turbine is running, you pour the preparation and let run for about 10 minutes (this varies depending on the machine). Ice goes abound, that is to say, gain volume.

How to taste this Oreo ice cream?

You can enjoy the ice cream at the outlet of the ice cream maker or the turbine for a consistency very smooth (like Italian ice cream). Otherwise, you can place it in the freezer for at least 30 minutes for a firmer texture. firmer (and form balls).

    1. Lilie bakery

Ah! Same problem as me then :))

  3. If we don't have a turbine, can we do it with the mixer? How long?

    1. Lilie bakery

We don't want to make a whipped cream but an ice cream, so no mixer. The turbine / ice cream maker does not beat, it creates the frozen texture by cooling it.

  4. prettylittletruth

Yum, that looks so good! Well done :)

  10. Hello! Sorry my comment does not concern this recipe, but one that was published in March: the banana and caramel fudge muffins, but I have a question, because I had a small problem with the recipe. The dough was very liquid, almost the same texture as a pancake batter! Result, the muffins are very soft, practically not cooked inside! Is this normal? I doubt it because they do not look at all like those in the photo (the latter are magnificent, well puffed up)... However I followed the recipe to the letter! Maybe a mistake? Thank you in advance for your answer which will perhaps help me :-)

    1. Lilie bakery

Hello, it is better to post the question on the corresponding article. Not cooked = oven not hot enough or not cooked long enough.

    1. Lilie bakery

  18. Aline Bianca Kitchen

My favorite cookies in ice cream: what more could you ask for :)?

  19. I just made it and tasted it... to die for! It's simply delicious
Is it possible to make it with pistachio? I found a pistachio ice cream recipe but I completely mess it up. All the recipes that require a custard-type preparation... I systematically mess them up. If you have a recipe similar to this one that I can adapt for pistachio that would help me a lot. Thank you

    Hello
Oreo recipe at the top of the list after my apricot ice cream of the day. My question is about the equipment: I have a very simple ice cream maker, but the turbines are bothering me. Is the Magimix really worth its high cost? The Klarstein and Koenig look good to me too. What puts the Magimix above all else?

    Many thanks

  21. Stephanie

    Hello
This ice cream is a killer.
Vs did not answer me but I cracked and ordered the Gelato.

  23. I wonder if the vanilla is really necessary because the taste of the oreo will completely mask the vanilla.

    1. Lilie bakery

Hello, I always use vanilla in my ice creams to bring out all their flavor, I really recommend you to do it here too. See you soon!

  24. Hello, the recipe looks great, I think I'll try it. On the other hand, if I want to double my quantities, will it not be too sweet in terms of sugar? Thank you very much

    1. Lilie bakery

Hello Emeline, you can absolutely double the quantities of the recipe. You can keep the sugar the same. Or else in step 1, you put less, you taste, and you add more if necessary. See you soon :)

  25. Just wondering where the creme Friace comes into the recipe? It isn't listed in the ingredients? pls help!!

    1. Lilie bakery

Hello Cooper, it's written in the recipe: the crème fraiche comes after the milk and sugar :)

  26. Hello,
Shouldn't you heat the preparation a little so that the sugar dissolves better?
Next recipe I absolutely want to try! I'm already salivating!

    1. Lilie bakery

Hello Anne, if you let it rest a little, you don't need to heat it, it dilutes well. I hope you like it, we love it here! See you soon :)

  27. One of the best ice cream recipes I've ever tried. Try it, it's incredible!! It's like you've just left the ice cream parlor.

    1. Lilie bakery

Oh thank you very much Pauline! As with the ice cream parlor, it's a great compliment! Glad you like it so much :) See you soon

  28. Hello and thank you for this recipe that I am about to try but a quick question regarding the Oreos
Are these 15 whole biscuits (sour 2 plus the cream inside)? Or do we have to separate them and remove the cream?
    thank you for your reply

    1. Lilie bakery

Hello Marie, to answer you, you should not separate the biscuits: you use them whole crushed. :) See you soon

  29. Hello, I would like to try the ice cream but with Corsican biscuits. I was also told to add powdered milk for creaminess and to avoid crystals. What do you think? Thank you.

    1. Lilie bakery

Hello Carole, I haven't had any problems with the crystals myself. You can try it out if it works for you. See you soon :)

  30. 5 stars
    Tried it, it's amazing!
I reduced the sugar and removed the white in half of the cookies, it was perfect. I'll make them again!
    Thank you
